Hope you enjoy the walk Plod, not sure what the weather will be like, probably the usual mixed bag. The shorter days will help and you can always post any non-essentials back home as you progress if it proves too heavy or use Sherpa. Let us know how you get on

Not having a time limit and being able to stop when and where you please, is something to really appreciatte, so enjoy the experience.
All the best.
Dave.

Plod, I just did a 10 day run over the C2C finishing on the 22nd June. My pack was 17kg. I am a reasonably fit 16 stoner and 17kg was just about ok in a well fitted/adjusted rucksack. Make sure any back length adjusters etc are at the correct length.

I did the walk for the first time in June (I still grin like a moron when I say that) and I took WAY too much stuff. Never having done a walk of any sort before, I didn't know what I really needed.

I took several pairs of shorts. Silly girl. Wore one pair one time. It was too damn cold for shorts. Only took two pair of pants. One of them became too big to wear within only a few days of walking so I ended up wearing the same pair of pants for most of the walk. And yeah, I smelled like the sheep I was walking among.

I took two pair of socks for every day of the walk. That's 16 days...that's a lot of socks. It seemed like a good idea when I was packing. It didn't seem like a good idea while I was carrying them.

Here's what will really make you experienced blokes shake your head. My daughter and I both took laptops. Yup. I admit it. I was blogging our adventure. That's my excuse.

The next time I do this walk, I will take about 1/4 of what I did the first time. Having said that, I'll still take my laptop!
