Anyone walk the Essex Way recently? We're taking a cruise from Harwich to Boston on 31 August 2013 and we thought that the Essex Way would be a nice little LDP ending at Harwich.

We would appreciate it if anyone has any impressions of that walk.

I walked the first half of the Essex Way (from Epping) a couple of years ago and did enjoy it.
Of course, being Essex there are no mountains to climb, but the scenery was quite entertaining with some interesting buildings, etc to see and visit.
My biggest problem was at the start (Epping station) getting from the start plaque on the wall to the next bit which entailed crossing the railway bridge, turning right, then left (the waymark was not very prominent). From then on it was plain sailing with generally excellent waymarking.
The Essex County Council put out quite a good little handbook, which cost me about Stg2.75 I think.
I'm afraid I can't comment on the last bit of the wallk.
