Other members may have a different view but I have never had any problem with midges on this walk during the summer months.

I think you that since Ultravox split up, Midges should not be a problem.

We walked in June and with the exception of one night in Grasmere when we didn't get to our farm until after dark because a pub got in our way and refused to let us pass until we had several pints, we didn't have a problem. In fact, we were virtually bug free for the entire 16-day walk.

ultravox are back now so this may become an issue again . luckily I am from a part of Ireland where we became used used to midges at a young age so this means nothing to me !
