Hi, I have two options as to when to start the first section of this walk.

Either beginning of August or 1st week in September. My only concern about August is that it is in the middle of the holiday season, and my only concern about September is the weather. If it is going to rain all day I would rather it be a warmer month than a cooler one if you know what I mean.

Has anyone got experience of these two periods please?

Thanks.

Hi Janice, Good to know you are out and about again.
Re Holiday season - I can't see that making any difference to this walk as you are not really going through mega busy places. Of course places like Knighton, Montgomery, Hay on Wye etc will be/should be busy but not to extent of being of concern. The route itself is never too busy.
Personaly I would opt for August.
Dave.
Ps. Did you see that I and my small team required the services of Border Search and Rescue last month.

What can I say !!!! I admire your energy both in mind, body and soul to even contemplate doing the event. You did exactly the right thing in alerting the appropriate bodies. Bet it was exciting though !! Well done you, brilliant.
