I know Nine Standards is very boggy and not much can be done to bypass it other than walk the road..
I wonder if there are other spots that will cause trouble and would appreciate any ideas for detours, etc.
We are walking the first two weeks of May 2013.
Thanks for your input.

Loc: West Lancs.
Can be sqelchy at the tip of Loft Beck, Greenup Edge, dropping off Kidsty Pike, around Sunbiggin Tarn, Nine Standards, Low level route below Cleveland hills and past Graystone hills on Sneaton Moor before Hawsker. By far the worst is indeed Nine Standards especially near the summit. All part of the package though.
Dave.

Dave covers most of it. The off road "new" sections between Ellerton Hill and Danby Wiske follow narrow hedged-in tracks concentrating all the feet into a narrow corridor. I found that more of a nuisance than anything when crossing last June ie no traction and nowhere to go. ditto for the woods before Richmond.
The worst walk I found for bog and mess was the Dales High Way ( first two days before you hit the limestone)
