My pal and I completed the Coast to Coast walk from Robin Hoods Bay to St Bees 2 days ago. Obviously, walking in this direction meant we were able to pass others going in the more 'traditional' direction.

We passed between 20 and 45 people per day, and in total said hello to around 280 other C2C'rs.

No wonder the path is extremely well worn in places!

This is why I am not sticking to the "real" route. There are quieter diversions (or I hope they will be).

Johny. Walk it the normal way, west to east, and you get more solitude, past by very few - and you avoid the prevailing winds.

Already done it the conventional way twice. Wanted to see it from a different perspective. Also managed to raise 1100 for Macmillan Cancer support.
