The White Lion Inn
Patterdale, Penrith, Cumbria, | |||||||
Visitors and local people have enjoyed the hospitality of the White lion since the early 1800's. Many a tale could be told of events that have taken place in all its lifetime, including the time when Wordsworth was in our very bar as news arrived that Nelson had died at Trafalgar. Time has inevitably changed the White Lion a little, but we believe only for the better. What has firmly stayed intact is the character and atmosphere of this historic country inn. You'll experience a welcome that couldn't be bettered even if you're wet through in all your walking gear. A number of our customers come in for a casual drink and end up staying overnight - often longer. You have a choice of seven bedrooms, five en-suite, two with private facilities, all with colour TV, and tea /coffee making facilities. Breakfast is quite a social gathering.
