Do you mean Landranger series?Which route are you taking? Its best to do a Google search and contact people on sites dedicated to this walk.A book by Andrew McCoy is a good starting point as that details three different routes.
I wouls suggest starting on the South West Costal path to Minehead, then head through Exmoor and the Quanntocks to the Severn Bridge, from here cross into Wales and follow Offas Dyke to the Staffordshire Border then head into the White Peak. From here hit the Pennine Way to Greenhead then work through the Southern Uplands to Glascow. If you make it alive through Glascow you can then walk the WHW to Fort William. Then follow the Cape Wrath Trail to the Northern Coast and walk the final 70 odd miles to John O Groats.

hi lightweightmick - See you have replied to 'The Rosedale Circuit' and good to hear the route has been published. strangely enough John Hillaby used to live in Thorgill just down the road from Rosedale Abbey and drink in the White Horse - met him once in there too. Of course he died a few years ago now but always enjoyed his 'Journey through Britain'

Hi Tonyk The route you described in reply to the original thread? Have you ever tried it? Just out of curiousity do you know how long that route is that you have described? Not that i'm about to go changing the route that i have already set, but was just wondering

Hi Christompzn2. I did the end to end in 1990 started at John O Groats. My advice is to work out your route on a road map then refer to the Landranger series to see which cover your intended route. My total distance was 840 miles, trying my best to keep away from major roads where possible. I came down the East of Scotland via loch Ness to Edinburgh. Then across to Gretna Green & on down to the lake District, over Shap Fell & on to Monmouth. Then the Severn bridge to Bristol. Believe it or not this was the only tricky bit. Then it is on through Cornwall to Lands end. If it would help I could send you my route. You will find my e.mail address on the Pennine way chat site. Enjoy your walk.
